Creeksicles & More! Out & About in the Pecos Wilderness

I tend to make up my own words... one of my friends calls them Becky-isms. It turns out though, that there are others that use this term (I googled it...) but I couldn't find it in the dictionary. I was enthralled by these creeksicles I found today hiking along the Rio Medio in the Pecos Wilderness.

I thought the one below looked like an Angel. Or the letter "A."
Or both.
:)

I also found this sculpture... it reminded me of Andy Goldworthy's work. It was interesting though, 'cause in 5 hours on the trail... we did not see another soul. I wondered who did it & when?

Remnants of Fall Color... mostly all on the ground now...

Afternoon sunlight backlighting the trees...

and a treat on the drive home~ gorgeous New Mexico Skies!

And a quintessential New Mexico Sunset!

It felt good to get back out on the trail again, out in the sunshine & crisp weather, & goof around with my camera!
:)

Each photo was a treat, Becky. Loved the sun rays and the stacked wood, reminds me of the little pens my grandchildren would make on their attempt to build a log cabin in the woods.

Another GORGEOUS post! Your photos make my heart (and soul) ache for New Mexico. I see the resmblance to an Andy Goldsworthy in the one photo..and yes, I see the "A"....

I always feel refreshed when I come to visit!

Hugs,

Makes my life seems so mundane...
Hiking in a wilderness is so out of my world. Even out of my imagination.
Can't begin to comprehend what it means to prepare for being out in a wilderness.
Without a safety net :-)
And what you do with your camera can not be described as mere goofing.

You take the most wonderful photos, Becky. Your camera must be quite pricey ;-) Well done! Thanks for the memories (I lived in Santa Fe, NM where my daughter was born.)

Thanks for taking me with you, Becky - your photos of the changing season are awesome. I love the sparkling water behind the icy A! Those NM sky shots are hard to beat! I was just outside sowing wildflower seeds onto the snow.
