I tend to make up my own words... one of my friends calls them Becky-isms. It turns out though, that there are others that use this term (I googled it...) but I couldn't find it in the dictionary. I was enthralled by these creeksicles I found today hiking along the Rio Medio in the Pecos Wilderness.
I thought the one below looked like an Angel. Or the letter "A."
Or both.
:)
I also found this sculpture... it reminded me of Andy Goldworthy's work. It was interesting though, 'cause in 5 hours on the trail... we did not see another soul. I wondered who did it & when?
Remnants of Fall Color... mostly all on the ground now...
Afternoon sunlight backlighting the trees...
and a treat on the drive home~ gorgeous New Mexico Skies!
And a quintessential New Mexico Sunset!
It felt good to get back out on the trail again, out in the sunshine & crisp weather, & goof around with my camera!
:)

Each photo was a treat, Becky. Loved the sun rays and the stacked wood, reminds me of the little pens my grandchildren would make on their attempt to build a log cabin in the woods.
What a lovely start to my early morning. Thank you, Becky, but: Brrr...
beautiful shots! thanks for sharing!
Another GORGEOUS post! Your photos make my heart (and soul) ache for New Mexico. I see the resmblance to an Andy Goldsworthy in the one photo..and yes, I see the "A"....
I always feel refreshed when I come to visit!
Hugs,
♥ Robin ♥

I have to come back! ha ha

Makes my life seems so mundane...
Hiking in a wilderness is so out of my world. Even out of my imagination.
Can't begin to comprehend what it means to prepare for being out in a wilderness.
Without a safety net :-)
And what you do with your camera can not be described as mere goofing.
Beautiful!!! I love that you make up words, I do it too :-). I also think your new header is stunning!!! xoxoxo
You take the most wonderful photos, Becky. Your camera must be quite pricey ;-) Well done! Thanks for the memories (I lived in Santa Fe, NM where my daughter was born.)
Thanks for taking us along on your trip Becky ! You've revealed the beauty in the wilderness again with your wonderful photos ! It's so refreshing to get out there, isn't it - beats working, anytime ! ;-)

Wow, we don't even have ice yet in Maine. Beautiful sunset!
Your photos are just exquisite, Becky! I love that header photo! The tree trunk art "sculpture" reminds me of train tracks! You had wonderful finds on your - holy cow! - 5 hour hike!
Have e great weekend!
Regards
Thanks for taking me with you, Becky - your photos of the changing season are awesome. I love the sparkling water behind the icy A! Those NM sky shots are hard to beat! I was just outside sowing wildflower seeds onto the snow.
Lovely photo's...and I really love the nature art some one left in the third photo. Thank you for taking us along on your hike.♥
This is just stunning. I would have also loved this hike. It wont stop snowing here in Canada. Its pretty but cold.
