Somewhere, Over the Rainbow...

Rainbows can be fleeting... they are there for a moment, and then gone. Not so with this one... it was one of the most beautiful & long lasting rainbows I've seen (and a double one, at that!) I had just gotten off work, and was getting ready to have dinner with a friend when the thunderstorm rolled in, bringing with it the most amazing skies...

I am always in awe of such natural beauty... and  I was so excited to capture it, I didn't notice the raindrops on my lens until many photos later! (Click to enlarge.) It's long lasting nature allowed my friend & I to capture it from many angles around town.

Near the plaza above... and St Francis Cathedral below~

I shall never tire of such natural beauty!

Well, Becky, these are superb shots...not often you get good double rainbows or even one rainbow with such bright and distinct colors.

I think my favorite is the first one because of the way the light reacts with the rainbow colors and the sun continues to shine, amidst the clouds, down on the ground.

You really captured some good photos, Becky, each one is special. I would be so happy with myself, if I had taken these. They are beautiful!

Beautiful captures Becky - love them all. And some great lighting and backdrops to enhance the rainbows (not that they needed it).

btw - you may be familiar with this, but maybe not - have a listen; I think you'll like it - Somewhere Over the Rainbow

Fantastic photos. A rainbow certainly is good luck, but a double rainbow is double good luck!!

The rainbows in NM are often like that, just one reason why I love it here! These are great shots!

Wow, those photos are marvelous, but I especially loved the St Francis Cathedral shot with the rainbow behind it. Those orange Adobes at the plaza remind me of the apartments where I lived when I was there...the only thing I really don't miss about Santa Fe is those awful, lonely sounding, howling winds - do you still have them? They made me so sad!
